The path forward for RAC licensing in Tasmania
AIRAH, the ARC and other industry stakeholders have been made aware of issues with the licensing framework in Tasmania that are affecting refrigeration and air conditioning contractors and technicians.
We have met with Tasmania's building and consumer regulator, CBOS, to raise these issues. The conversations have been positive, and we have been invited to submit a joint industry proposal to amend the licensing framework. This could include the creation of a specific licence for refrigeration and air conditioning, separate to plumbing.
To discuss the path forwards and build consensus, AIRAH is inviting Tasmanian refrigeration and air conditioning contractors and technicians to two special meetings in early April.
