AIRAH has provided feedback on the interim report produced by the Productivity Commission on building a skilled and adaptable workforce. In particular, we have commented on the recommendation to reduce entry requirements for air conditioning and refrigeration technicians in NSW.

AIRAH and other industry bodies have written to the Productivity Commission making it clear that we do not support this recommendation. We believe it would create risks for consumers, workers, and the environment, and would exacerbate inconsistencies in licensing frameworks around the country.
