Spotlight on building services

April 12, 2024

The Materials and Embodied Carbon Leaders’ Alliance (MECLA) is hosting a free Spotlight event on Thursday, April 18 to highlight the importance of embodied carbon in building services.

AIRAH chairs the MECLA working group focused on building services, which represent around 15 per cent of the upfront carbon in commercial buildings, and 30 per cent of the whole-of-life embodied carbon.

The event will look at embodied carbon across the building services supply chain, exploring the challenges and the opportunities for delivering more sustainable outcomes.

Presenters will include:

  • Mark Vender – Advocacy and Policy Manager, AIRAH
  • Jennifer Elias – Associate Sustainable Design, Atelier Ten
  • Andrew Nagarajah – Senior Engineer Sustainability, A.G. Coombs Advisory
  • Gary Knox, F.AIRAH – Lead Engineer, Daikin Australia.

The hybrid event will take place at the Aurecon offices in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide, as well as online.
