Burleigh Baker – Elite Refrigeration
The team at Elite refrigeration designed and installed new refrigeration equipment to increase
capacity and improve the energy efficiency of the Burleigh Baker on the Gold Coast in
Queensland. As a result of the project, the business has been able to expand operations, and the
new refrigeration and fermentation process has led to an increase quality and productivity.
Hello fresh – PDF Engineering
The refrigeration system on this project is a direct water-cooled ammonia refrigeration system
with glycol reticulation to the coolroom fan coil units. It includes two ammonia compressor
packs at 780kWr, each with saturated suction temperature of -10°C installed by Gordon Brothers
Industries. The ammonia system cools the glycol via a 1600kW heat exchanger.
The freezer utilises a CO2 cooling system, as do the two blast freezers each capable of blast
freezing six pallets of product within 12 hours.
The coolroom and freezer fan coil units hang from the ceiling. Seven of these provide 110kW
cooling each in the production space to maintain 3°C uniformly across the area.
TCO2 Training – City Engineering
City FM and natural refrigerants company (CA Group) worked together to create and complete a
national training roll-out for City FM refrigeration technicians and aligned contractors to gain
theoretical and practical hands-on experience in servicing and maintaining supermarket
transcritical refrigeration systems. CA Group constructed a training pod in a shipping container
with an Advansor (Denmark) TC pack, which was shipped around Australia to minimise downtime for
technicians. The design of the course and pod was coordinated between CA Group, Advansor and
City FM. City FM was able to train all its technicians nationally and increase their knowledge
and confidence.
