Over the past five years, AIRAH has embarked on a concerted program of initiatives to create a sound
platform of organisational capability from which to thrive and grow. A strong financial focus, sound
systems and processes, business practice compliance, and growing people capability have all become an
integral part of the way we do business. AIRAH’s ability to adapt in response to the COVID-19 pandemic
during 2020–22 is a testament to the resilience and sustainability of the organisation.
Looking towards 2030, there are a number of key challenges facing the industry. These include the
transition to net zero buildings, the digitisation of the built environment, and a need to make our
sector more accessible and inclusive.
AIRAH has the opportunity to play a leading role to enable this step-change across the industry. The
Institute has an ambitious goal to be the leading professional association for the HVAC&R and
building
services sector by 2030. By leveraging its intellectual property, training, and communication channels,
together with the extensive knowledge base of its members and networks, AIRAH is well positioned to
shape the future of the Australian HVAC&R industry.
