We cover air con as well as refrigeration and electrical contracting too. Refrigeration design engineer - (Philadelphia - NJ, USA)


Major commercial refrigeration company has a need for a Refrigeration Design Engineer at a manufacturing facility in New Jersey. The selected candidate will design refrigeration components and systems for new and existing commercial refrigeration products for major restaurant chains.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Participates with New Product Development (NPD) team members to design the refrigeration systems for the Company’s products.

Lead innovative advanced technology projects that will support future NPD projects.

Develop proper specifications for system level performance, subsystem performance and component performance.

Develop and execute test plans to validate new or existing refrigeration system performance utilizing design for reliability tools and performance sensitivity analysis. Consideration must be given to the applicable third party certifications, for example: UL, CE, NSF .

Design refrigeration systems that meet customer requirements, time to market commitments and that are within target cost commitments of the NPD project.

Other duties may be assigned

Requirements


Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or other science.

Must have strong written and verbal communications skills.

Sense of ownership & urgency with projects and work assignments.

Willingness and ability to work in a cross functional team environment.

Willingness and ability to work with issues on the factory floor with successful experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Ability to work with major chains to understand their requirements and translate their requirements into working systems.

The service technicians perform maintenance, installation and repairs for a range of equipment which includes chillers up to 600 tons, DX air conditioning systems, small split system air conditioning systems and refrigeration systems.

The company represents Trane, York, Johnson Controls, Mitsubishi Electric, Hill Phoenix, True and Scotsman in Bermuda, offering technical support to all their products.

The successful candidates should posses the following qualifications:

• Applicant should have at least five (5) years experience in HVAC&R
• Possess internationally recognised qualifications in the industry

Selection Requirements


To be considered for this role, you will ideally have the following knowledge and experience:


• Ideally to have at least 10 years building experience
• Demonstrated commitment to sustainability
• Preferably possess relevant tertiary qualifications
• Experience in fitout and refurbishment.
• Has been a successful Project Manager.
• An excellent understanding of relevant software.
